This week Rononvan’s prompt is Sizzle & Sleek.
My mother was a proud Scots woman who despite living all over Europe never lost her accent and loved to use the traditional Scottish words and phrases she’d grown up with. One of them was ‘sleekit’ meaning sly, crafty, cunning.
Fiery sizzling sun
But lurking in dark shadows
Sleekit eyes track prey.
