I’ve been playing with masks and gradients recently, so I used them to create this underwater scene.

Beautiful in its own right, I decided to do something completely different and of course I couldn’t resist just a little touch of magic.

One Photo Focus November

One Photo Focus is organised by Stacy Fisher at Visual Venturing.   Stacy provides a ‘before’ picture which participants process/interpret in their own ways and on the first Friday of the month Stacy reveals all the ‘afters’.

This month the original picture was provided by Helen Chen.

The  Anping Treehouse in Tainan, Taiwan.

This is my interpretation.

To me, the original picture felt oppressive and sad and reminded me of the the forest of vines and thorns that grew up around Sleeping Beauty’s castle.

Am I a primary school teacher because I think like that or do I think like that because I’m a primary school teacher?

Following the Sleeping Beauty path, I cropped the image, lightened the shadows, added a rainbow gradient layer and finally added some magical sparkles and vines.
