In 1865 Britain introduced the world’s first speed limits for cars.

In 1948 the NHS began in Britain.

In 1954 the BBC broadcast its first daily television news programme.

In 2008 we went on our first Scarecrow walk.

In 1914 Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated.

In 2014 we walked in their footsteps at the Tower.

In 1099 the first Crusaders arrived at the walls of Jerusalem.

In 1329 Robert the Bruce died.

In 1546 Peace of Ardres was signed, ending England’s war with France and Scotland.

In 2015 we visited Hever Castel, family home of Anne Boleyn.

In 1678 The Godiva procession, commemorating Lady Godiva’s legendary ride, became part of the Coventry Fair.

In 1669 Samuel Pepys made the last entry in his diary.

In 1911 the  Titanic was launched.

In 2015 we stayed in Fawsley Hall, a Tudor Manor House.
