Building Blocks of History 16th August

Things happen every day, big and small. Together they make our family history, our local history, our country’s history and sometimes they become part of global history.

All of these things happened on 16th August in years gone by.

In 1819 the Peterloo Massacre occurred in Manchester.

In 1858 Queen Victoria the first transatlantic telegram was sent by Queen Victoria to President James Buchanan.

In 1977 Elvis Presley died.

In 2016 I was dog sitting and spent the day in the park.
