Building blocks of History 26th July

Things happen every day, big and small. Together they make our family history, our local history, our country’s history and sometimes they become part of global history.

All of these things happened on 26th July in years gone by.

In 1469 the Battle of Edgecote Moor was fought during the Wars of the Roses.

In 1745 the first recorded women’s cricket match took place near Guildford.

In 1803 the Surrey Iron Railway opened.

In 2016 we visited Canterbury Cathedral.

In the shadow of

medieval travellers,

honour the martyr.
