Building Blocks of History 31st May

Things happen every day, big and small. Together they make our family history, our local history, our country’s history and sometimes they become part of global history.

All of these things happened on 31st May in years gone by.

In 1678 The Godiva procession, commemorating Lady Godiva’s legendary ride, became part of the Coventry Fair.

In 1669 Samuel Pepys made the last entry in his diary.

In 1911 the  Titanic was launched.

In 2015 we stayed in Fawsley Hall, a Tudor Manor House.

Long remembered days

foreshadowing the unknown

perils yet to come.
