Building Blocks of History 22nd March

Things happen every day, big and small. Together they make our family history, our local history, our country’s history and sometimes they become part of global history.

All of these things happened on 22nd March in years gone by.

In 1765 the British Parliament passed the Stamp Act.

In 1774 Tom Thumb’s Song Book was published.

In 1930 Stephen Sondheim was born.

In 2013 we woke up to an unusual covering of snow,

Early spring aubades

Tinkle in morning breezes

Frozen deep in time.
