Building blocks of History 1st February

Things happen every day, big and small. Together they make our family history, our local history, our country’s history and sometimes they become part of global history.

All of these things happened on 1st February in years gone by.

In 1587 Queen Elizabeth I signed the death warrant of Mary, Queen of Scots.

In 1884 the first volume of the Oxford English dictionary was published.

In 1942 Terry Jones, of Monty Python fame was born.

In 2014 I came across these little chaps whilst on a walk on a sunny, crisp winter’s day.

Venturing out on

A chilly, bright winter’s day

Dreaming of summer.
