Building blocks of History 10th January

Things happen every day, big and small. Together they make our family history, our local history, our country’s history and sometimes they become part of global history.

All of these things happened on 11th January in years gone by.

In 1839 the first auction of India Tea took place in London.

In 1863 the first underground railway opened in London.

In 1929 Herge drew the first Adventures of Tintin.

In 2013 a walk on the first sunny day of the year.
