Building Blocks of History 5th October

Things happen every day, big and small. Together they make our family history, our local history, our country’s history and sometimes they become part of global history.

All of these things happened on 5th October in years gone by.

In 1789 The women of Paris marched on Versailles demanding bread.

In 1952 tea rationing ended in Britain.

In 1962 London premiere of Dr. No.

In 2012 I was lucky enough to visit the Houses of Parliament.

A moment of calm

Time for a strong cup of tea

Infusion of hope.
