Building Blocks of History 20th July

Things happen every day, big and small. Together they make our family history, our local history, our country’s history and sometimes they become part of global history.

All of these things happened on 20th July in years gone by.

In 1189 Richard I of England officially invested as Duke of Normandy.

In 1960 Ceylon elects the world’s first elected female head of government.

1n 1969 Apollo 11 landed on the moon.

In 2014 the Woollen Woods Exhibition at Sizergh Castle

Arrayed in splendour,

Cutting edge regalia

For all occasions.
