Building Blocks of History 13th July

Things happen every day, big and small. Together they make our family history, our local history, our country’s history and sometimes they become part of global history.

All of these things happened on 13th July in years gone by.

In 1527 John Dee, 16th-century scholar, alchemist and magician, was born.

In 1955 Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be hanged in Britain died.

In 1983 I was cycling across France.

In 2013 the British Athletics Championships in Birmingham.

Pushing boundaries

Each a small contribution

To the common good.
